V9 and Below: Reset & Setup Guide ⚠️ Before you start: Many Smart TVs and STBs on the market today were released after the V9 code list was built, so some newer devices may not have a matching code. If a code isn't found for your device, try Code Search or Learning Mode, or you may need to upgrade — V14 is our current release.Locate Your DevicesBefore you begin, figure out what you're working with:How do you normally change channels — with the TV's own remote, or a separate cable/satellite box remote? If you change channels with the TV's remote, you have a TV Only setup (no box).If you change channels with a cable/satellite box remote, you have a Set-Top Box (STB).If you're not sure, follow the wire running from the back of the TV — it will lead to the box, if there is one.Why Start With a Reset? If you're setting up a used, inherited, or resold V9-and-below remote, it likely still has sync data from its previous TV and cable/satellite box. Troubleshooting on top of that old data wastes time and rarely works. Starting with a full Unlock and Reset clears the old sync data and resolves most "nothing responds" issues in one step.Step 1: UnlockPress and hold ADD until the light turns solid, then enter 956. The light will blink out.Repeat this same unlock step for TV and STB.✔ Confirm the red light flashes each time you enter the code — this confirms it was accepted.Step 2: ResetPress and hold ADD until the light turns solid, then enter 954. If not, repeat with the next code for your TV brand.4️⃣ TV Only (skip if you have a cable/satellite box): V9 and below is preset to expect a cable/satellite box, so if you determined in "Locate Your Devices" that you don't have one, press and hold TV until the light turns solid, then enter 970. The light will blink out.Step 4: Program the STB (skip this step if you're TV Only)1️⃣ Press Channel. If it changes the channel, setup is complete.2️⃣ Sync STB: If not, press and hold STB until the light turns solid, then enter your box's 4-digit code from the code list.3️⃣ Test: Test Power and Channel.
