V10+: Channel Buttons Not Working? (Check Model # on the Back)

Step 1: Determine If You Have a Cable Box

Ask yourself:

  • ✔ Do you change channels with the TV remote? → You have a TV Only setup
  • ✔ Do you change channels with a cable/satellite box (STB) remote? → You have an STB to sync

Not sure, or can't find the box? Follow the wire running from the back of your TV — it will lead you to the cable/satellite box. (Some Xfinity boxes are mounted on the wall or tucked behind the TV.)

Before You Start

Flipper V10+ remotes are preset to control your TV only — the Channel buttons are initially mapped to the TV, not a cable/satellite box.

  • ✅ Make sure Flipper, your TV, and STB are all in direct line of sight
  • ✅ Stand about 4–5 feet away when testing

Steps to Resolve

1️⃣ Reset Flipper Remote

📌 Press and hold ADD until the light turns solid, then enter 954
✔ The light will blink out, confirming reset

2️⃣ Set TV Control

📌 Press VOL
✔ If Volume works, go to Step 3
✔ If not:
➔ Press and hold TV until the light turns solid, then enter the 4-digit code for your TV brand
➔ Test Volume — if it doesn't work, try the next code in the list

3️⃣ Set STB / Cable Box Control (No cable box? You're already set — Flipper V10+ defaults to TV control.)

📌 Press CH
✔ If Channel works, setup is complete
✔ If not:
➔ Press and hold STB until the light turns solid
➔ Enter the 4-digit STB code
➔ Test Channel — if it doesn't work, try the next code in the list

Still Having Issues?

If the box is hidden behind furniture or in a cabinet, you may need to move it or use an IR Extender. You can also try Code Search or Learning Mode, or refer to your TV/STB manual for additional guidance.
